By far the best Aussie Rock Band ever in my opinion. The Spies would come to WA numerous times a year back in the 80's. I lost count of the number of shows I saw but the best was during the day at Scarborough Beach while surfing and listening to them rock. I still listen to all their albums and nothing will change - these guys rock the f... out big time. I can't believe Mike wasn't included in the Top 50 Aussie Guitarists released the other day. He would be Top 10 for sure. The memories will never fade and I still have some of Mike and Craigs Dunlop picks which I use to this day. Still waiting for you guys to come back to Perth.

I saw the spies 19 times live around the brissy, gold and sunshine coast venues - have a drumstick and a 'spies' long sleeve shirt plus 4 albums. Still play any of your songs anytime. Spy's are the best band that didn't quite make it to the big big time - My brother tried to get you to play at his 21st when you were living at Eumundi i think... Have even named my boat after the great Spy vs Spy.

Hi boys,

I have just come across your site and I'm wrapped. I have the best memories of coming to see all your shows in Melbourne from about 1987 onwards. I would come to see for two or three nights in a row, I would lose three kilos in sweat and couldn't talk or hear for a week, but it was worth it. I even saw you guys when you played in London in about 1989 at the town and country (I think), the place was packed and it went off. I tried to get into the dressing rooms that night by claiming that I was mike's brother in law, but no luck, the bouncer was onto me.

Anyway, thanks for the memories boys, your music really spoke to me and still does. You guys were a real highlight in my life back then.

I look forward to keeping up with the news on this site. And by the way, I still have an original copy of four fresh lemons.

Take care

I lived in Australia in the late 80s and had all 3 of the first albums and went to several gigs in Sdney, but over the years their tapes and CDs have gone mssing, being broken, scracthed and probably stolen. Where (online) can I buy the whole back catelogue? yes BUY ... happy to pay for these becasue they are so F good! IMO these guys were ahead of their time ... almost a grunge sound well before the Pixies and Kurt took that style to the world! Help em find these great tarcks online ... PLEASE!!!
