Love your site and would love even more to see you guys play aagain. I'm in Brisbane now, but remember seeing you at the Tiv and Old Lion in Adelaide years ago..since finding your site and back in touch with the music, I can't stop listening to it for the last 6 months...timless and great.
Cheers

I remember seeing the gang Live at "The Tiv" in Adelaide late December 1989. Took a girl I was keen on - after RAVING to her about this band, joined a room of about 15 people (bar staff, band, bouncers and roadies outnumbered the audience). They played the roof off the place! It was a sensational gig! The boys took OUR photo from up on stage with MY camera (Saying we were the best crowd they had seen for a long time - how gracious). Got back home, the girl's Ex was waiting, he broke my nose and bruised my knuckles with his chin and she dissappeared with the camera. I really miss that camera. I'll never forget that night - Fantastic (The venue was packed the next night according to my friends that went) My wife just doesn't understand this music or the memories it generates for me. Thanks guys, you made a difference to me.

I keep looking for dates, Cant remember the year, but its been a hell of a long time. One of the best I do recount was the Gig on the beach at scarborough. Still the best live band I have ever had the delight to watch. Please if it happens, come back to WA!

I have finally found a file for my favourite Spy's song- Working week!! In about '91, I was driving through Dee Why in my old Kingswood. Dunno if you've driven through there, but there's about 20 sets of lights. I got one red after another, it was stinking hot, no air con. I thought to myself, 'I wish JJJ would play Working Week'. Two seconds later, it came on. I pulled over and went and bought an ice cream. A nice BIG ice cream. Thanks guys!!! Great memories.

What a great way to start AUS Day - listening to Hard Times while it downloads. I'd lost the album 12 years ago and since then have hoplessly flicked thru music shops searching for Spies.
A mate told me about the Spies Site last week after we listened to Xenophobia on the way to the game.
We used to get to the Gigs on Sydney's northern beaches in the '80s. With ears bleeding we'd drag ourselves home, completely buggered, try-hard Hooligans...Don't fall asleep at the beach.
Does anyone remember the guest DJ appearance - maybe on MTV - I think Craig was a bit keen on Jana Wendt.

Went to see the lads at Laurieton last Saturday night, the new line up sounded good and with Michael belting out the old riffs it took me back to the 90's. Good night , please come back soon and visit the Mid Nth Coast.

Guys, what you need to realise is that it is NOT THE REAL Spies touring. Mike is the only original member. I have heard that they are pretty average...

Great to see the band is touring again, finally, have been waiting a few years, last time I was at one of their gigs was up on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. As such have just now purchased tickets for their show at the Halekulani Bowling Club with GangGaJang on the 28 Jan 12. Am so looking forward to hearing some classic aussie rock again, pure and raw. Hope to see the place packed and rocking. See you then.

INJUSTICE!!! I went to Cessnock Supporters Club during the week to buy tickets to the Spies gig on Friday 20/1/2012, only to be told the show had been cancelled due to slow ticket sales.
What a sad indictment on the live music scene when one of Australia's greatest rock bands is shown this sort of disrepect. 'THE MODERN AGE IS FINALLY TAKING US OVER AT LAST'.
I call on all fans to travel and support The Spies when they next play, 'USE YOUR HEAD', in these 'HARD TIMES'.

Hey guys, have you reformed and are you touring? Heard you were performing at Newcastle and Port Macquarie? Any chance you are coming to Brissie?
